Sayings: A to M

Believe/Faith

Unbelief is not a problem of the intellect but of the will.

Doubt makes the mountain which faith can move.

Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death.

Faith keeps the man who keeps his faith.

Faith gives us the courage to face the present with confidence and the future with expectancy.

Faith is the daring of the soul to go farther than it can see.

Faith is the hinge that holds the believer to a personal relationship with God.

Faith is something like electricity. Yougea can't see it, but you can see the light.

When we do what we can, God will do what we can't.

Christianity

Christianity is not the end of your life, but a turning point of your life.

Commitment

God is not looking for convenience-based commitment, but conviction-based commitment.

Cross

The cross is the gateway to our salvation.

Death

The greatest tragedy is not dying unexpectedly. The greatest tragedy is living unprepared.

Your valley is not your grave, but it is God's stage to bring you back to life. (Ezekiel 37)

Discipline

Recognize God’s loving discipline as a mercy. When life’s paths are blocked, it may be His way of redirecting us from destructive pursuits back to covenant faithfulness. (Hosea 2:6-13)

Understand that God may remove both false supports and legitimate privileges to draw us back to Him. Seasons of discipline are meant to refine our devotion and strip away distractions. (Hosea 3:3-4)

Eternity

When eternity comes, all your priorities will become clear. That's why we need to live with eternity in mind.

We don't need to wait for eternity, as eternity is already working within us.

Evangelism/Great Commission

Jesus' last command must be our first priority.

We cannot do the great commission without godly compassion. (Luke 15:20; Isaiah 49:15-16)

Those that pursue God will pursue others.

Freedom/ Free Will

A free will is not to do what we want; but to do what we ought.

Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as you ought.

Freedom for eternity is through the death of Jesus Christ.

Friendship/Relationship

Friendship means little when it's convenient

I like short people... because they are down to earth.  (ref: Zacheous)

Forgiveness

If Jesus forgave him, and you are not willing to forgive him, then are you saying you are holier than Jesus?

Giving/ Receiving

We may not have enough, but with God we have more than enough.

God

God must first do something for us and in us, before He can do something through us.

When God measures men, He puts the tape around the heart, not the head.

God has given us a will to choose His will. (Dr. Henrietta C. Mears)

The most important thing is the world is not to know God's will but to know the Lord. (Wallace Boys)

When God created the universe, He said "it was good." But after He create man, He said "it was VERY good."

Our inability to sense God does not mean He is not with us.

Do not blame God for disasters that affected you, because God's plan is not regarding you only.

“Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.” —Albert Einstein

God is the Author of our lives.

God is not a microwave oven. He is slow cooker. You are undergoing a slow marination.

Beware of substituting God with modern idols—whether wealth, pleasure, or human wisdom. Idolatry distorts worship and leads to moral collapse. (Hosea 4:7-13)

God’s mercy exceeds human vengeance. Even when judgment is deserved, His holiness includes compassion. Divine holiness includes mercy. Discipline brings Restoration. (Hosea 11:9-10)

God is the author who writes a better ending.

God does not just give more time, He gives more life. (Job)

Grace

Grace always out run condemnation. (The father out run the villagers who wants to condemn his son when comes back by smashing pottery in front of him.)

Grace always give more than what justice requires.

Heart

Hardened heart - we want control and would not let go for God.

Distracted heart - how to balance our heart between our selfish desires and our responsibility

Whole heart - brokeness due to trials n suffering. Isaiah seen the glory of God and woe to me. We recognise our sins in front of Holy God

Callouse Heart - When knowledge increase, the heart decrease. (Ezekiel 36:26; mark 9:24)

What am I putting into God's hand.

Holiness

God did not allow Israelites with ritualistic uncleanness to participate in worship; similarly, Christians who are spiritually unclean are worshipping God in vain.

Spiritual uncleanness includes greed, sexual immorality, envy, pride, lying, stealing, selfishness, hatred, unforgiveness, judging others, and priotizing things or people above God. In summary, it is about the condition of the heart and relationship with God. Cleaning our uncleanness is to confess, to ask for forgiveness, and to repent.

Holy Spirit

Jesus has the same Holy Spirit as you. The difference is that Jesus is fully filled whereas we are partially filled.

Humans

The heart of the human problem is the problem of the heart.

We learn some things from prosperity, but we learn many more from adversity.

Youth looks ahead; old age looks back; middle age looks tired.

There are two things you need to worry about, whether you are healthy or you are sick. If you are healthy, there's nothing to worry about. If you are sick, you have two things to worry about. Will you get better or will it get worse. if you will get better, then you got nothing to worry about. If it gets worse, you have two things to worry about. Will you live or will you die. If you will leave, you have nothing to worry about. But if you are dying, you have 2 things to worry about. Are you going to heaven or to hell. If you are going to heaven, there's nothing to worry about. But if you are going to hell, there are two things to worry about. Are you going to be crispy or original.

Jesus

Lived as the Lowest, Died as the Worst, To Save the Least, To Give them the Best.

Jesus is the pilot of our soul. When the plane goes through a storm, we are all afraid. However, the pilot is calm, as he knows how to go through the storm and land the plane.

We may not be part of a great history, but we are part of His Story.

Our eyes may not be on Jesus, but Jesus' eyes are on us.

Is Jesus F.I.R.S.T. in your life?

- Interest
- Relationship
- Schedules
- Troubles

Greatest man who ever walked on earth, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet rulers feared him. He claimed no territory, yet they called him King. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified him. He was buried in a tomb, yet he lives today. His name is Jesus

Kindness

Kindness is the ability to love people more than they really deserve,

Love

Tithing - You can give without loving, but we can't love without giving. Acts 20:35

Happiness is the conviction that we are loved in spite of ourselves.
(When I realize how unworthy I am, and how much more God loves me, I feel a strong sense of joy and jubilation. It gives me a purpose and courage that no one can take away.)

There are more people who wish to be loved that there are willing to love.

God purposes that we should love Him - not just the things He gives us.

God's love for us is not a love that always exempts us from trials, but rather, a love that sees us through trials.

Love is the quest, marriage the conquest; divorce is the inquest.

The most lonely place is the world is the human heart when love is absent.

You poured your blood on me; I want to pour my love on you.

The ultimate display of love was on the cross.

Take hope in God’s relentless love. Even after failure, He seeks to restore us, offering a relationship grounded in steadfast love and mercy. (Hosea 2:14-20)

Remember that God’s love is not conditioned on our worthiness. He seeks us even when we stray, calling us back through costly redemption. (Hosea 3:1-2)

Life/Death

A good death comes after a good life

Marriage

A marriage is a psychological relationship. The man is logical, the woman is psycho.

Mission/ Missionaries

There is a true story about a missionary in Africa. One of the villages he shared the gospel hated him and the chief sent him a warning that they will come that night to kill him and everyone in the compound. The missionary cried out to God to protect them. However, nobody came that night.

Two years later they managed to convince that village to accept Christ. He went to the chief and asked him why he didn't come that night. The chief says they went but they saw 39 giant warriors guarding the camp! So they ran away.

The missionary went back to his hometown and told his church what had happened. The secretary of the church asked him when was the night they said they will go to the camp to kill the people. When he told her the date, she brought out the church's diary and showed it to him. On that night, there were 39 people praying for him!

The missionary name was David Livingstone.
